Product/Techno

Components are everywhere and directly linked to the evolution of electronics or the “all electric” requirements for measurement, control, command of real time and safety. Whether for a nuclear reactor or for a subsea control unit, there is a demand for more and more products and technologies similar to those developed for the Aviation, Defense and Space markets.

My consulting services are focused on industrial manufacturers of PEMCO (Passive Electro-Mechanical Components) or EEE ( Electrical, Electronic, Electromechanical).  Among this vast world of components, the major product categories in which I have been involved for more than 3 decades during my international career and where I can bring valuable inputs to my clients are:
Passive:
Transducers, sensors, detectors
Strain gauges, magnetic devices, resistors, capacitors
Electromechanical:
Connectors and terminals, interconnect solutions
Cable assemblies, jumpers, umbilical
Relays, switches, trimmers

Passive electromechanical components are mainly originated from Military Specifications (- Mil-Spec.) or Military Standards (- Mil-Std.) and their developments are supervised in Standardization Committees such as: ARINC, SAE.
Addressing primarily the Aviation, Defense and Space markets, new generation of platforms drive the technological trends:
Weight saving
Composite
High Speed Data Network with Gigabits copper or fiber optics
Power Actuation for all electric systems
Miniaturization for space saving or higher density

As noted in the Market Section, hundreds of manufacturers are serving this components industry. If we just take reference to the connectors industry, more than 800 suppliers are still specialized today in these activities. And with exception of big players as TE Connectivity, Amphenol , Molex, most of them are still private family-owned companies of less than $ 250 million in annual revenue.
